About the Artist
I live in Petaluma, California, with my wife, Heather Sullivan, and my two-year-old daughter, Addie Rose. As a painter, I’m self-taught. My wife, who teaches process painting, took me to the art store one day about eight years ago, and I was hooked. When I’m painting, just as when I’m fishing, time seems to stand still, and my beer has time to get warm. I grew up in Davis, California, and my family also owed a small ranch outside of Winters. On that ranch was a pond, and in that pond were tons of bluegills and bass. I started fishing with a click-button Zebco before I can really remember and have been angling ever since. I switched over to a fly rod in my late teens when introduced to fly fishing on a trip to the Deschutes. After graduating from Davis High in 1986, I went to college in San Diego and, 11 years after graduating from high school, I finally completed my studies with a law degree from the U.C. Davis School of Law. I’ve been practicing with the law firm of Beyers Costin in Santa Rosa, California, since 2002, where I primarily focus on disputes related to real property. Steelhead are my favorite fish.
