Bernard Yin

Bernard's passion for fly fishing began at a special time for our sport. In the late 70s, he held a summer job at the Creative Sports fly shop in Walnut Creek, CA and was mentored by André Puyans and the Diablo Valley Fly Fishing Club. Although moving to San Diego led to surfboards and guitars, the passion for fly fishing never left him. While active in the Los Angeles music world, he has also guided in the Sierras, worked at the Fishermen’s Spot in Van Nuys, and managed social media for the Southwest Council Fly Fishers International. His years of “blue lining” in the So Cal mountains for native trout are renowned, and he is ardent for all things aquatic. Currently, Bernard and his wife, Rebecca, serve as ambassadors for CalTrout, Patagonia Fly Fishing, conservation co-chairs for the Southern Sierra Fly Fishers Club and perform music with their group, Par Avion.
