Bud Bynack used to help Richard Anderson edit California Fly Fisher, doing the copyediting and also some occasional writing for the magazine. He’s a former professor of rhetoric at UC Berkeley with a BA and PhD from Yale, and for many years, he has been a developmental editor of scholarly books. For the past two decades, he’s lived in the suburbs of New York City, where he serves on the board of directors of Theodore Gordon Flyfishers, Inc., a conservation organization, and publishes their quarterly newsletter, Gordon’s Quill. He fishes the Catskill rivers that were the cradle of American fly fishing, but misses the McCloud and the other waters of the Golden State.
